William (Willie) Wright- Tullamoy, Stradbally, Laois

William (Willie) Wright passed away on 20th June 2024, peacefully at The Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Mary and brother Seán. Deeply regretted by his cousins, neighbours and friends. Reposing at Rigneys Funeral Home, Athy on Sunday, 23rd June, from 6pm to 8pm. Arriving to St. Josephs Parish Church, Ballyadams for Requiem Mass at 3pm on Monday, 24th June. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Ballyadams.

Marie Keegan (née Keegan) -Newcastle, Dublin / Mountmellick, Laois

The death has occurred of Marie Keegan (née Keegan), (Newcastle, Co. Dublin and formerly of Mountmellick, Co. Laois) Marie, June 22nd, 2024 (peacefully) in the care of the staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Elm Park. Beloved wife of John and cherished mother of Conor, Ciara and Patrice. Sadly missed by her loving husband, son, daughters, grandson Evan, son-in-law John, daughter-in-law Jackie, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Celbridge on Wednesday evening (June 26th) between 5 pm and 7 pm. Removal on Thursday afternoon (June 27th) to St. Finian’s Church, Newcastle arriving for Funeral Mass at 1pm followed by burial in Newcastle Cemetery.

Margaret BrophyFairymount, Crettyard, Laois / Crettyard, Carlow / Avoca, Wicklow

Margaret Brophy (née Byrne)(Former NS Teacher at Ardough National School, Bilboa, Co Carlow) Fairymount, Crettyard, Co Laois and formerly of Rosebank, Avoca, Co Wicklow, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, after a short illness, on June 22nd, 2024, under the wonderful care of the Nurses and Staff at Aut Even Hospital, Co Kilkenny.

 Beloved wife of Martin, much loved mother of Teresa, Carmel, Patrick and Martina, adored grandmother of Saoirse, Aoibhinn, Caoimhe, Síofra and Ellen and cherished sister of Ann, Peter, Michael and Esther and the late Bridget, John and Mary.

 She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, son, daughters, grandchildren, sons-in-law Paul and Colin, Martina’s partner Ross, daughter-in-law Daiva, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing in Carpenter's Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq., Carlow (Eircode R93 C863) from 3pm on Tuesday, June 25th, concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Removal on Wednesday at 10.15am to St. Abban's Church, Doonane, Crettyard, Co. Laois, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.


Mary HealyClonkeen, Portlaoise, Laois / Ballinahown, Offaly

Mary died on June 19th 2024, peacefully, in the loving care of her exceptional carers at Serenity Lodge. She was a native of Lackaghbeg, Ballinahown, and was predeceased by her parents Kieran and Catherine Healy and brother Kieran.

Mary will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her brothers John and Andrew, her wonderful and dedicated carers, who were like family to her, cousins, and extended family. Mary's funeral has taken place. After the Celebration of her Requiem Mass, Mary was laid to rest in her family plot in Clonmacnois.

Bernie Keegan (née Conroy)-Main St., Portlaoise, Laois

Bernie Keegan, Main St., Portlaoise, Co. Laois. June 21st 2024. Peacefully in the tender care of the staff of Ashley Lodge Nursing Home, Kildare. Surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Charlie. Dearly loved mother to Cathal. Cherished grandmother to Aoibheann, Sorcha, and Clodagh. Mother in law to Ciara. Loved sister to Phil, Vincent, Francie and Anna May. Predeceased by Patricia, Mary, and Seamus. Deeply regretted by her brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and her many former customers and friends.

Reposing at Keegan's Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6.30 pm until 8 pm with rosary at 7.30pm. Removal on Monday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul's Church for 12 noon requiem mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul's Cemetery, Portlaoise. Family flowers only.

Nora Lalor (née McNamara)-Coole, Raheen, Laois

The death has occurred of Nora Lalor (née McNamara), Coole, Raheen, Abbeyleix, and formerly of Oldtown, Clonkeen, Co. Laois. Died 22nd June 2024, unexpectedly, surrounded by her children at Portlaoise Midlands Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Peter, brothers and sister. Loving mother to Mary, John, Patricia, Betty, Noreen, Kathleen, Michael and Peadar, brother Dan, sons in laws, daughter in law, grandchildren, great-grandchild, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home, Mountrath on Sunday evening (June 23rd) from 5.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal on Monday morning (June 24th) to St. Fintan’s Church, Raheen, for Requiem Mass at 12. noon, followed by Burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

Claire Buckley (née O'Brien)- Tullamore, Offaly / Clara, Offaly / Laois

Late of Kilmucklin, Tullamore, Co. Offaly and Capenlug, Clonaghadoo, Co. Laois. Claire passed away peacefully on June 23th, 2024, in her 86th year at Tullamore Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, leaving us with beautiful memories and love to last a lifetime. She will be sadly missed by her husband Joseph, her children Vincent, Paddy, Eilis and Mary, son-in-law Cairain Woods and, daughters-in-law Bernie Bolger, Emily Nolan and her adored grandchildren Patrick, Emily, Sofie, Rebecca, Stanley, Alfred and Edward, sister Josie Delahunty, sister in law Sr Carmel Buckley, nieces and nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at O’Reilly’s Funeral Home, Harbour St, Tullamore (R35 FC84) on Wednesday from 4pm until Removal at 6.30pm to the Church of Assumption, Tullamore. Funeral Mass on Thursday morning at 10am followed by burial in the New Cemetery, Kilcoursey, Clara. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to the Friends of Tullamore, Hospital.
