The SOLAS Eco Garden centre in Portarlington is really in full swing with an action packed St Patrick's bank holiday weekend of music, dancing, art, markets, carnival and great food.

David Maher of SOLAS explains: “We are so lucky to have a 5-acre site here which means we can run the carnival, St Patrick cultural events and food venue all at the same time. There really is no other single location in Ireland which has as much going on for the family as SOLAS has this weekend. Throw into this our ‘Afternoon Tea’ and gift ideas for Mother’s Day, we really are the venue which offers it all”.placeholder image

SOLAS – PLANTS

The ‘Plant of the week’ is Clematis Armandii which is an evergreen climber bearing highly scented white, cream or light pink flowers from March to April. It needs a sunny, sheltered spot in your garden. Perfect as a cover for walls. Deep green, glossy leaves stay all year around.placeholder image
