Grow Mental Health are delivering their Community Education Programme in the Mountmellick Development Association, starting on Wednesday 2nd October.
The programme promises to be a hugely informative series of talks, which will be focused on giving the community a deeper insight into better mental health.
All are welcome to attend the events over the three weeks-free and no booking required. This year will see the former Governor of Mountjoy Prison, John Lonergan lead off as he shares his own insights into living a happy and fulfilling life alongside Psychotherapist Caroline Crotty.
The second night on Wednesday 9th October will explore the topic of suicide prevention in the community, which will be delivered by the National Office for Suicide Prevention’s Josephine Rigney. She will be joined on the night by the county’s Social Prescriber Shauna Williams which in itself, is a relatively new role in the provision of mental health for people across the community.
On the final night the Wednesday16th Of October, award winning Counsellor & Psychotherapist, Brian Walsh from Midlands Counselling Service will explore understanding and managing depression.
Overall, the series of talks aim to deliver a holistic exploration of the ever-important topic of mental health. As it is a community-based programme, all are very much welcome to attend.
