Enrollment now open for Gaelscoil Thromaire

Gaelscoil Thromaire - A two-teacher school offering bilingual education, small classes, and vibrant school life

Gaelscoil Thromaire is a two teacher Gaelscoil just outside of Mountrath, where children have the opportunity to work in small groups and have access to many different resources and learning outcomes.

Situated in a brand new, state of the art building, the school offers children the unique combination of a small school population with classes of less than twenty children and the opportunity of a bilingual education.

This has been shown to improve childrens' cognitive abilities and to develop lateral thinking skills from a very early age, and gives pupils a great advantage when enrolling in Secondary School.

Pupils from Gaelscoil Thromaire are preparing for their Cumann na mBunscol Final in the Portlaoise centre of excellence this Wednesday. There is great excitement around the school as we have been training regularly all year.

We have a very active Sports Programme, with teams regularly appearing in County Finals in Cumann na mBunscol tournaments.

Our girls and boys are in tomorrow's 7 a side Gaelic football final at O'Moore Park, so there is great excitement about that.

Pupils from Gaelscoil Thromaire are learning how to use PCs for classroom work including MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and other vital applications which will be a great preparation for work in Secondary School.

Bhí ceiliúradh mór Oíche Shamhna ag daltaí Ghaelscoil Thromaire ag deireadh na míosa seo chaite.

The school is currently enrolling for the 25/26 school year, and parents are invited to call in and meet the school community anytime.
