Best Dressed Dog is among the many generous prizes offered for St Patrick's Day in a Laois village beside the Slieve Bloom Mountains.

Clonaslee parade organisers are going all out to ensure an exciting day on Monday, March 17.

Their parade starts at 12 noon sharp, with assembly at the Clonaslee Community Centre from 11am.

The 2025 Grand Marshalls are the players on the Golden Jubilee Clonaslee team which won the senior hurling final in 1975.

The parade was formally launched recently with a big attendance dressed in their leprechaun best. See photos by Michael Scully here.

The parade will offer a wide array of prizes for float entrants, including a €600 cash prize for the best float.

There will be €150 cash prizes for the winners of five further categories:  the best vintage float, the best dressed dog, the most original float, the best club / school, and the most entertaining.
