Laois County Council crews have cleared 30 road blockages across the county so far in the major clean up operation from Storm Éowyn.
The powerful storm brought down a significant number of trees across Laois with thousands without power.
In an update this afternoon a spokesperson for Laois County Council confirmed that the N80 through Laois is now clear from the Offaly border to the Carlow border.
The local authority is operating a severe weather hotline (1800 832010) that the public can contact to report incidents.
"We are strongly advising the public not to make unnecessary journeys. Aside from the dangers of fallen trees, power cables and telecoms infrastructure, there will be a lot of debris on roads and footpaths," said a spokesperson for the Council.
"There will be multiple hazards on streets, roads and footpaths and the public is asked to report any incidents to the Council’s Emergency Hotline Number."
