Laois local link bus services suspended over safety concerns

The aftermath of damage caused by the storm is now being assessed

Granard - Longford Local Link evening service extended until March

Laois Local Link bus services have been suspended until further notice as a result of Storm Éowyn.

Laois Local Link bus services have been suspended until further notice as a result of Storm Éowyn.

"All services are suspended until further notice for the safety of our drivers and passengers," Local Link stated in an update online.

"Passengers please note even though we have now come through the red weather warning, the aftermath of damage left behind is now being assessed. Many roads are impacted with fallen and damaged trees, broken power lines and debris. Emergency crews are doing great work to clear but this will take time. There are still weather warnings in place and may cause further debris to fall after damage from the strong winds earlier today."

Laois is under a status yellow wind warning up until 4pm on Friday, January 24.
