A status yellow high temperature warning was issued on Tuesday morning for Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Donegal, Munster, Connacht.

Met Éireann advised Laois locals to expect maximum temperatures in excess of 27°C, combined with overnight minimum temperatures in excess of 15°C.
