Ciara Delaney
One of the amazing young women in the 2023 Laois Rose Selection, was inspired 13 years ago to enter.
Ciara Delaney from Coolrain was a cute Rosebud when the Rose of Tralee came to Portlaoise in 2010 for the regional final.
She is sponsored by Hogan’s Bar, Coolrain.
"I was an international Rosebud in 2010 and was paired with Sarah Felong, the Southern California rose. Since then, the Rose of Tralee is a huge part of my life and I continue to have a great friendship with Sarah and others I met over the 13 years," Ciara said.
Aged 23, she is a full time student.
"I am in my final year of general nursing in UCD and on my internship in St. Vincent’s University Hospital.
"I am from the beautiful village of Coolrain, at the foot of the Slieve Bloom mountains.
"I love to hike, bake and swim. I am heavily involved with Scouting Ireland since the age of 6. I have represented youth up to a national level.
"I recently started to volunteer with the Laois Arch Club, a friendship group for adults over the 16 with intellectual disabilities," she said.
Ciara will join 16 other impressive young Laois women to take to the stage in the Midlands Park Hotel this Easter Sunday night, April 9.
Tickets are €25 and will be available on the evening so get there early. Doors open at 7pm and show starts at 7.30pm sharp.
See this week's Leinster Express for profiles of all 17 Laois Rose Entrants.
