Legendary Laois Ballymaloe chefs in star studded food festival

Rachel Allen, Darina Allen and Rory O'Connell

Legendary Laois born chefs, television presenter and authors Darina Allen and Rory O'Connell with Rachel Allen can be seen for free at a big Irish food festival this October Bank Holiday weekend.

Darina Allen, Rachel Allen and Rory O’Connell will bring a taste of Ballymaloe to Kilkenny as part of a stellar line-up of Cookery Demos by top Irish Chefs on Saturday and Sunday, October 28 and 29.

The chefs who are from Cullohill in Laois, along with Darina's daughter-in-law and fellow television celeb chef Rachel, will all feature in the 100 stall Savour Market, overlooked by Kilkenny Castle.

The Savour Stages will also showcase the culinary talent of the highly acclaimed Kevin Dundon, King & Queen of Savour Edward Hayden & Anne Neary, zero waste kitchen advocate Conor Spacey, Kai restaurant’s Jess Murphy, and the Cupcake Bloke Graham Herterich.

With demonstrations by up-and-coming Chefs Caomhán De Brí and Sarah Browne, no fuss cook Maria Harte, zero waste wedding guru Orla McAndrew, and the Spice Guru Arun Kapil. Plus a patisserie masterclass with Mount Juliet’s Tom Phelan. There is something for every taste and ability.

Alongside the top Chefs, Irish Olympian Derval O’Rourke will be chatting about eating healthy and affordably with frozen food and Nathalie Lennon will be discussing food as fuel for exercise. Wellness Warrior Catherine O’Keefe and latin-American Chef Jeeny Maltese will be helping you with tips and tricks to beat brain fog and Dr. Sinéad McCarthy will be discussing the food pyramid through a sustainability lens.

Festival stalwarts and MCs Edward Hayden and Siobhan Donohoe promise great craic as they guide you through the fun, informative and tasty demonstrations! Entry is free to both stages and open to the public on a first come first served basis. Seats fill quickly.

Savour Kilkenny Food Festival prides itself on providing a platform where culinary brilliance meets enthusiastic food lovers. With this year's thrilling line-up, attendees can expect a truly remarkable culinary journey, through cookery demos, market stalls and dining events.
