This week's Greyhound racing from Thurles track
A community funded suicide prevention centre in Laois is inviting supporters to go greyhound racing.
SOSAD Ireland has organised a race night at Dundalk Greyhound Stadium in Louth.
The Laois branch is asking locals to go along in support.
The Greyhound Race Night takes place on Sunday, February 4 on the first St Bridget's Bank Holiday weekend.
"The evening would be perfect for a night out with friends, colleagues and family while supporting a local charity," says Grace Ennis, co-ordinator of SOSAD Laois.
It is a family friendly event and under 14s go free with each ticket holder.
Admission is €20 and includes entry to the races, a chance to win €1000, a race card, and most importantly, a donation to SOSAD Ireland.
If you want to support the charity but cannot attend, you can still get a ticket to be in with a chance to win €1000.
Each admission ticket includes a unique number combination. If your unique combination matches the finishing order of the feature race you have won €1000. The winner will be announced on February 4th.
For information and to get tickets, check the SOSAD Ireland website.
"We also have tickets for sale in the Laois office if anyone is interested," Grace added.
The SOSAD Laois office is based in Shamrock House on the Abbeyleix road in Portlaoise, near the Garda station.
