Fresh from their Laois County hurling win, Camross village is putting on a huge weekend in aid of the Laois Offaly Families for Autism (LOFFA) charity.

On Saturday evening, October 14 the Camross Truck Run takes place, followed by DJ Noel Brennan in the village pub, with Ireland vs New Zealand live on the big screen at 8pm.

Then on Sunday comes another great spectacle, the Camross Tractor Run, followed by The Dooley Brothers playing live at 5pm.

All proceeds are in aid of LOFFA, with a huge raffle to take place on Sunday evening, with a top prize of €1,000.

Registration for Trucks on Saturday the 14th starts at 3pm and run will be leaving the village at 6pm. Registration for Tractors on Sunday the 15th starts at 12.30pm and run will be leaving the village at 2.30pm. Eircode to the village is R32 YEF6.

Refreshments will be served in the hall at registration on both days, and BBQ served after in Bergins The Camross Inn.

Supporters can buy a draw ticket directly from LOFFA, by revoluting to 0876726994 or via PayPal LOFFA @loffamembers.

"We are delighted to be able to help out Camross Truck & Tractor Run, we are very lucky to have be chosen for their charity for 2023. All proceeds come to LOFFA," the charity said.

After the success of last year's run, the organisers decided that the 2023 edition will feature two events over two days.

The truck run is pencilled in for Saturday evening, October 14 while the tractor run is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, October 15.

LOFFA is a voluntary parent-run support group for parents and families of children, young adults and adult children with Autism.

"It is such a worthy cause so we hope to make it a special, successful weekend," say the organisers.

Last year's event raised more than €9,000 for community projects in Camross.
