Laois rural community launches fundraiser for playground

A Laois rural community has launched a big fundraiser in the hope of installing its first playground.

Trumera Community Hall Committee was granted €50,000 last August to build a little playground beside the hall, but the community has to raise another €10,000 in order to qualify for the grant.

The rural area which takes in Gaelscoil Thromaire national school, is now hoping that an online fundraiser can help. Link below story.

"Trumera Community Hall committee are fundraising to support the construction of a new playground on the grounds of the community hall.

"Situated in the heart of the community the new playground will be a focal point for all children that come to the area. The proposed playground equipment will cater for children of all ages ranging from 0 - 100. The fully inclusive facility will promote physical play and discovery learning that will benefit children\'s development in a fun and exciting environment.

"Partial funding has been successfully secured with a grant from CLÁR funding, additional funding is required to bring this exciting project to fruition.

"Please support this fundraising event by donating what ever you can. This facilitate will benefit Trumera and the surrounding area for years to come. Thank you very much for your support. Trumera Community Hall Committee".

The fundraiser just launched this week is on the way, with €370 donate so far. See it here.

The funding of €50,000 came from the Clár programme, under Minister Heather Humphrey's Department of Rural and Community Development.
