Cheque presentation night in Bergin's Lounge

The Camross Truck and Tractor Run Committee was delighted hand thousands of euro over to local groups who make a big difference to the lives of people in the village and across Laois and Offaly.

The beneficiaries of the 2023 edition were LOFFA, (Laois Offaly Families for Autism) and Camross Parish.

LOFFA was presented with a cheque for €12,000 while the Camross Parish received a cheque for €1,000 at the presentation night in Bergin's Lounge, Camross on December 3.

This fundraiser is now an annual event, great credit goes to the organisers, who put a lot of work into this making sure it runs smoothly and everyone enjoys the day out each year. This year's runs took place on  Saturday and Sunday, October 14-15. MORE BELOW PICTURE.

A "big thanks" was extended to all the participants, tickets buyers and donors. Everyone who helped in the hall was thanked as were the people who helped park trucks and tractors on both days as well as the marshalls at all the junctions along the way.

The Committee thanked the sponsors: Midland Tyre Services, McHale plant sales, Setanta Renault Trucks, Kelly Machine Spares, Laois Hire, Kuddz Kidz, David Cuddy AKA Making Big Bank, Laois Sawmills and Coolrain Sawmills. MORE BELOW PICTURE.

They are also grateful to Pauline and Sean in Bergins, The Camross Inn for their continued support. Thanks are also extended to Paddy Tynan for the use of his field for parking each year. Mary Anne, Padjoe and Teresa were thanked for the lovely BBQ on Saturday evening.

Johnny Fitzgerald was thanked for bringing up his collection of vintage toys.

Special praise was reserved for Breda and Catherine from LOFFA.

"Your commitment to the cause is heartwarming and outstanding. We learned so much about what ye do over that weekend and we know that the money raised will help so many families," said the committee.

The organisers are already looking forward to 2024.
