Laois food appeal charity Ken Smollen Family Rescue Team in Portarlington/Mountmellick has announced that it has been forced to temporarily close.
The voluntary service, which aims to help families in need, will close from July 1.
In a statement, the Portarlington/Mountmellick-Ken Smollen Family Rescue Team said: "It is with a very heavy heart and regret that we wish to inform our supporters and services users that June will be the last delivery for The moment. Our service will temporarily close from July 1st. This is out of our control and we hope to resume our service as soon as possible. We will continue to collect donations for the month of June and will provide as much food as possible to our families out what we have in storage.
"Thank you everyone for your support. Particularly Dempsey's Gala store, coffee shop and Inver fuel station McLoughlin's Supervalu Daniels Centra Portarlington Kane’s convenience To all contributors to our food appeal thank you so much..
