A trainee teacher with a passion to teach secondary school students with special needs is hoping to become the 2025 Laois Rose.

Grace Anne McCormack is from Ballybrittas, and is sponsored by The Heritage Hotel and Spa, where she works part time.

She told the Leinster Express / Laois Live all about herself.

"I am a native of Ballybrittas and am currently pursuing a degree in Business and Accountancy Education at Mary Immaculate College, Thurles. With a strong passion for teaching, I draw inspiration from my own positive experiences in school, particularly in the area of Special Educational Needs (SEN).

"Upon completion of my undergraduate studies, I intend to further specialise by undertaking a Master’s degree in Special Education," she said.

Outside of her academic pursuits, Grace Anne enjoys hiking and staying active at the gym. She has been a dedicated member of the team at The Heritage Hotel and Spa since the age of 17.

"My time there has allowed me to develop valuable skills in hospitality, customer service, and professional communication," Grace Anne said.

The Laois Rose Selection Night takes place in the Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise on Friday, April 18. The winner will take part in the televised International Rose of Tralee in Kerry this August.

The Leinster Express / Laois Live is the proud Media Sponsor for the Laois Rose Selection.
