Members of Clonaslee High Nelly Club have cycled many kilometres in aid of good causes, and they'll be turning the pedals once again in 2026 in aid of an emergency service for children.
The club say they will undertake their most ambitious and physically taxing effort to date - a 134km cycle from Dublin to Shannonbridge along the scenic Canal Way in support of BUMBLEance.
The club held a special Christmas launch for the fundraising event, which will take place on Saturday, April 11 next year.
Club members were thrilled to be joined by members of the BUMBLEance crew on December 19 for their Open Day. Santa had the opportunity to tour the bus while members of the charity enjoyed a warm and festive welcome in Clonaslee.
The Clonaslee High Nelly Club issued a statement to the Leinster Express / Laois Live about their 2026 initiative. READ MORE BELOW PHOTO.

"Over the past six years, we have been deeply fortunate to be able to support an array of amazing causes. Supporting children and their families is close to our hearts. Building on the success of previous work, we are so excited to support BUMBLEance.
"With every mile cycled, we hope to make a difference and play our part in providing additional lifesaving journeys for children all over Ireland. In 2026, we will once again spin our wheels for a purpose to be proud of. During the most difficult times in families lives, BUMBLEance provide a safe haven.
"Each ambulance is fitted with an Acetech system, which is a state-of-the-art control, monitoring and tracking system incorporating real-time remote diagnostic and reporting capability. Such resources are expensive, and the charity needs help from all of us to ensure their vital work continues. We hope you'll join us in any way you can. We'll be sharing more details closer to the date," said the statement.
While planning for 2026, club members created a shortlist of worthy causes they would like to support and BUMBLEance left a lasting impression. The Children's Ambulance Service say they exist to empower the hundreds of families unable to access their child’s medical care by providing nationwide medical transfers in a safe, caring and fun environment, completely free of charge.
