The Laois community is being invited to join a morning sponsored walk for the Laois Alzheimer’s Society, in the beautiful surrounds of Derryounce Walkway in Portarlington.

The walk will be held on Monday June 18 at 10am, and has been organised in conjunction with healthcare students at the Further Education College in Portarlington.

It came about after a visit last September by the Laois Alzheimer's mobile unit to the FEC in Port, when their members gave a talk about dementia to the students, who then wanted to help.

Almost €3,000 raised for Laois man's cancer treatment
