OFF TO THE DOGS
Timahoe National School are holding a race night in Newbridge Greyhound Stadium on Friday, September 27. The fundraiser is to properly fit out the new classroom extension. Tickets are €15 and can be purchased in the Timahoe National School or by contacting 087 7443824. There will be a raffle on the night with lots of prizes. This will be the school’s rundraiser for the year and it is hoped for a wonderful turnout on the night.
Next whist will be on Friday, September 20 at 8.30pm sharp. support welcome on the night.

Stradbally Community Allotments committee would like to thank everyone who supported their cake sale on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1 as it was a great success. Special thanks to all who baked for the sale and the sponsors.
THE LATE JIM FLANAGAN
The death has occurred on Thursday, August 29 of Jim Flanagan, Dunamaise House peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Husband of the late Pauline and dearly loved dad to Joe, Regina, Ned, Caroline, Lorraine and Seamus. Deeply regretted by his loving family, bothers Joe and Tom, sisters Minnie, Rita and Cathy, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, relatives and friends. His remains were reposing at his residence on Friday, until removal on Saturday to SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 2pm requiem mass after which interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.
A culture night will be held in Stradbally on Friday, September 20 (free events at the Arthouse and library). Art workshops, 5.45pm-6.45pm. Join the Arthouse resident artists for an hour of creative art workshops. Exhibition and talk, 7pm. Join artist Pat Byrne to view ‘Excursion’, a new body of arkwork.
