POLL: Are you concerned about the rising fuel costs in Laois?

I am worried about the rising costs of fuel, and I support the calls for the suspension of the carbon tax.

I am struggling with the rising costs, I am in support of the suspension of the carbon tax, and I intend to support the IRHA protest.

The rising costs of fuel is of concern to me, but I do not support the suspension of the carbon tax.

The rising costs do not affect me, and I have no opinion on the issues.

There is tension across Laois as fuel prices continue to rise, with Laois motorists and transporters feeling the costs of petrol and diesel since the outbreak of the war in Iran.

The price of kerosene in Laois has jumped from 99 cent to €1.57 within three days. Petrol has risen to at least €1.90 a litre, and diesel have risen to over €2 in some service stations.

Rosenallis man Ger Hyland, President of the IRHA, recently accused the Irish government of 'price gouging', and has called on the government to suspend the carbon tax until the war has concluded.

"One of our members was using 70,000 litres of fuel a month. He got fuel this morning, and it had cost him an extra €9,000 than it cost him a week and a half ago," Mr Hyland told the Leinster Express / Laois Live.

"Fuel has risen by 12 cent this morning alone. The government snuck six cents on fuel in January, and nothing was said on it," Mr Hyland said.
