The Intermediate Football Championship schedule has also been finalised for Round 2

Laois GAA have confirmed the fixture details for Round 2 of this year’s Laois Shopping Centre Senior and Intermediate Football Championships.

Round 1 of the Senior Championship produced no major surprises, with all eight fancied teams progressing. Much the same could be said of the Intermediate Championship, although few would have predicted Mountmellick's emphatic 4-10 to 0-17 victory over Annanough. Ballyfin, who were relegated from the senior grade last year, also needed extra-time to overcome Portlaoise's second team in Colt.

Once again, some of the Senior Championship games will be played away from Laois Hire O'Moore Park. Crettyard and Killeshin are the only two teams yet to feature at the county grounds, with Crettyard's clash against 2025 Intermediate champions Park-Ratheniska fixed for Stradbally. Killeshin, who played Stradbally in Ratheniska in Round 1, will take on Rosenallis in Annanough. There are two senior games scheduled on each day from Thursday, August 6, to Sunday, August 9.

The Intermediate Championship Round 2 fixtures will be played across two days, Friday, August 7, and Saturday, August 8. The Round 2 draw was made in Crettyard on Monday evening, July 27, following Ballylinan's victory over Arles-Kilcruise. The two qualifier ties will be played on Friday evening, while the four Round 1 winners will be in action on Saturday.
