Two Laois GAA clubs set to welcome President Jarlath Burns

New club facilities in Rosenallis and Ballylinan will be officially opened
GAA President Jarlath Burns is set to make two visits to Laois GAA clubs this weekend as he officially opens newly developed club facilities in Rosenallis and Ballylinan.
Burns will begin his busy weekend in Rosenallis on Friday evening when he officially opens the club’s brand new two-storey clubhouse.
The new facility is a major addition to the Rosenallis grounds and includes four dressing rooms on the ground floor, while the first floor features a kitchen and an open-plan area which can be used for meetings and other club activities.
Laois GAA Chairman PJ Kelly will also attend Friday evening’s official opening, which will mark an important milestone for the Rosenallis club following the completion of the new development.
Burns will then return to Laois on Sunday afternoon for another official opening, this time as part of Ballylinan GAA Club’s centenary celebrations.
The GAA President will be at Ballylinan from 3pm on Sunday, September 13, where he will officially open the club’s redeveloped facilities.
The development includes a new Community Walking Track, floodlights and improvements to the clubhouse, providing a significant boost to the club and wider community.
Ballylinan GAA Club has invited all members, past players, supporters, friends and neighbours to attend Sunday’s celebrations as the club marks its 100th anniversary.
The two visits mean Burns will have made three official facility-opening appearances in Laois in the space of just a few weeks.
He was in the county as recently as three weeks ago when he officially opened Clough/Ballacolla’s second ground at Tinnaragh in Clough.
That development provided Clough/Ballacolla with an additional playing field and further strengthened the club’s facilities as they continue to cater for their growing membership.
Burns’ return to Laois this weekend will see him visit two clubs at different stages of their own development, with Rosenallis officially opening a brand new clubhouse and Ballylinan celebrating the completion of a major redevelopment as part of its centenary year.
