A young Laois GAA hurler won the day when he brought a microwave as his gearbag.
The Laois Under 20 hurlers took part in the Anything but a Gearbag challenge in aid of the Dillon Quirke foundation this week.
The mad ideas included golf bags, a beef nuts bag, a tool box, a kids tractor trailor and a shopping cart.
Hands down winner of the challenge had to be Harps player Cody Comerford and his microwave.
The generous lads raised €240 between them for the foundation.
It was set up in honour of Dillon Quirke, 24, from Tipperary who collapsed during a hurling match and died of SADS on August 5 2022 in Semple Stadium Thurles.
Sudden adult death syndrome (SADS) takes 100 young lives in Ireland every year. The foundation's aim is to raise awareness and save lives by screening every GAA player both male and female from the age of 12 upwards.
