Met Éireann has warned that more rain is on the way for campers this weekend

As Electric Picnic campers braved the heavy rain in Stradbally on Thursday night, they might now need to be prepared for some more later on Friday.

Met Éireann have forecast more scattered showers on Friday afternoon, some of which could be heavy. It will be a humid day with temperatures between 19 and 22 degrees.

More rain is expected to spread across the area from the southwest on Friday night. The national forecaster has even warned that some of these heavy spells could cause localised flooding, with isolated thunderstorms possible too.

Saturday will start off similar to today, with a mix of cloud and widespread rain. However, the rain should start to clear in the afternoon with some brighter spells expected. Unfortunately, light rain will linger in parts until the evening.

Campers will be happy to hear that Saturday night will be mostly dry, with just isolated showers.

Sunday will be off to a cloudy and wet start, as Met Éireann has warned that some showers could be heavy and possibly thundery at times. The rain should gradually clear through the day however.

Sunday night will be a breezy one with some clear spells as well as scattered showers.
