Plans for public toilets at new Laois playground to be raised at community AGM

Ballyroan Community Development CLG will host their AGM later this month
Plans for the potential installation of public toilets at a brand new Laois playground will be discussed at a local community group’s upcoming AGM.
Ballyroan Community Development CLG will host their AGM in the Ballyroan Community Centre at 8pm on Wednesday, August 26.
Among the items on the agenda is discussions around a new public toilet in the brand new playground, Croí an Bhaile, which opened in June.
The new playground, multi-use games area and amenity carpark opened at the former national school site in the village.
The long-term plan for the ongoing maintenance of the playground will also be discussed at the AGM.
Last month, Ballyroan Community Development CLG appealed for volunteers to help maintain the playground by watering plants and picking up litter.
In an appeal for volunteers, the group said: “Any time you can spare once every week or two weeks, would be greatly appreciated."
There will also be an update at the AGM on the old school building on the site and future plans for it.
The AGM will also see the election of a new committee and directors for the coming year.
The group said that anyone interested in putting their name forward for selection as a director or committee member should contact a current committee member or email [email protected] with their contact details by Friday, August 14.
Financial statements and secretary’s reports for the previous year will also be presented at the annual meeting. These will be circulated prior to the meeting where possible.
Ballyroan Community Development CLG said they welcome new members and old. The cost of renewing membership is €5 per person for the year.
If anyone in the community wishes to include any motions for discussion, they should email [email protected], or contact a current committee member with details no later than Wednesday, August 12.
