PICTURES: Laois crews battle fire and damage to Portarlington train station

Portarlington train station in Laois was evacuated on Tuesday around 4 pm after a fire broke out in a maintenance workshop, a stone building that runs next to the platform.

Fire brigades from four stations attended the blaze and there has been extensive damage to the roof of the workshop.
