The Laois Rose Selection night is guaranteed to feature some showstopper songs, thanks to entrant Amy McNamara.
Amy is sponsored by her employer and overall event sponsor, The Style Bar.
As well as being a multiskilled stylist, Amy sings in musicals and professionally.
"I’m Amy, 25 from Portlaoise. I work at the Style Bar beauty salon in Portlaoise. I studied Make-up, Advanced SFX Makeup and Hair at LA Academy in Dublin. I also work part time in Nigels pub in Clara, Offaly.
"I take part in musicals with both Portlaoise and Clara musical society and love the buzz before, during and after shows. I love working behind the scenes as I have done hair and makeup for musicals and panto and also had the opportunity to work for Virgin Media TV doing hair and makeup for news readers and presenters.
"While part of the former Portlaoise Gospel Choir I had amazing opportunities to sing solos at weddings and events, some in the presence of President Micheal D. Higgins. I’m outgoing, love meeting new people and always up for any adventures life has to offer," she said.
All of the 17 amazing Laois Rose entrants will take to the stage in the Midlands Park Hotel this Easter Sunday night, April 9, in a gala event supported by an audience of their families and communities. The winning Laois Rose will go on to the Rose of Tralee televised final this August.
Tickets are €25 and will be available on the evening so get there early. Doors open at 7pm and show starts at 7.30pm sharp.
See this week's Leinster Express newspaper for profiles of all 17 Laois Rose Entrants.
