Annabel Laffan
A Laois teacher from the Electric Picnic village is hoping to become the 2023 Laois Rose.
Sponsored by Kavanagh’s Bar & Venue in Portlaoise, Stradbally woman Annabel Laffan is a comedy fan and immersed in her local community.
"I’m Annabel Laffan, I’m aged 27 and a mature student and teacher from Stradbally. I enjoy travelling, writing and comedy.
"I have a passion for working with people, especially with children. I’m a primary school teacher and this year I’m working as a special education teacher in a class for children with autism.
"I studied English and Business in Maynooth University and from there I completed a Masters in Education. I’m currently undertaking a Postgraduate Degree in Educational Leadership in UCD.
"While in Maynooth, I was Vice President of the SVP Youth Society and now volunteer with my local Foróige Youth Club. I also enjoy playing football with our local Mothers and Others team," she said.
All of the Laois Rose entrants will take to the stage in the Midlands Park Hotel this Easter Sunday night, April 9, in a gala event supported by an audience of their families and communities. The winning Laois Rose will go on to the Rose of Tralee televised final this August.
Tickets are €25 and will be available on the evening so get there early. Doors open at 7pm and show starts at 7.30pm sharp.
