Fans of Leonard Cohen are in for a real delight in Laois this summer when a renowned author and a long-time friend leads a creative writing retreat based on the writings of the much-loved Canadian singer/songwriter.
The Power of Words event to be staged in Preston House, Abbeyleix, will see participants explore with John MacKenna themes of love, spirituality, life and mortality in the songs and poems of the late Canadian troubadour.
John MacKenna is the author of twenty-six books, including a memoir of his friendship with Leonard Cohen. He co-wrote the theatrical Mass Between Your Love and Mine with Cohen in 2016.
His most recent book is the novel The Lock-keeper's Wife, published by Lilliput Press in February of this year. He teaches creative writing at Maynooth University and The Hedge School. READ MORE BELOW PHOTO.
