Portlaoise solicitor Conor Bergin has been shortlisted as a finalist in five categories at the LEAP Irish Law Awards 2026.
Less than one year after establishing his own legal practice in Portlaoise, the Borris-in-Ossory native has been shortlisted in the five Leinster categories.
It is claimed that the Irish Law Awards are regarded as among the most respected recognitions within the legal profession, celebrating excellence, innovation and outstanding client service across Ireland.
The Laois solicitor, who also serves as a member of Laois County Council, commented on the awards in a statement issued to the Leinster Express / Laois Live.
"I am delighted and honoured to be shortlisted across five categories at the LEAP Irish Law Awards 2026. To receive recognition across five categories less than a year after establishing the practice is something I am extremely proud of and is a significant milestone for the firm.
“These nominations reflect the confidence clients have placed in the firm and the support I have received from colleagues, professional contacts, family and friends since opening the practice.
“As a sole practitioner, it is particularly rewarding to be recognised alongside some of the most respected firms and solicitors in Leinster. My focus from day one has been on providing practical, accessible and high-quality legal services to clients, and I remain committed to building on that foundation in the years ahead,” he said. Since opening the doors of his business, he says he has developed a practice that serves clients throughout Laois and beyond in the areas of property law, probate and estate administration, civil litigation, personal injury matters and general legal services.
The Mountmellick Borris-in-Ossory Municipal District Laois County Councillor says has been shortlisted in the following categories: Sole Practitioner of the Year; Property Law Firm/Lawyer of the Year; Probate Law Firm/Team/Lawyer of the Year; Civil Litigation Law Firm/Lawyer of the Year; Personal Injury/Medical Negligence Law Firm/Team/Lawyer of the Year
The solicitor, who has ambitions of being elected to the Dáil for Fine Gael, says the multiple nominations highlight the rapid growth of his independent Portlaoise-based practice and its emergence as a recognised name within the legal profession in a relatively short period of time.
The winners of the LEAP Irish Law Awards 2026 will be announced at an award ceremony on June 12th in the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, Dublin.
