Garda make fresh appeal for help with investigation into Portlaoise knife theft

Gardaí have renewed an appeal for information in tracking down the suspects in a knifepoint robbery in Portlaoise.

Gardaí have focused their investigation into the incident, which occurred on Saturday evening, October 3, on the Tower Hill/Church Avenue area of Portlaoise. Garda also asked for dashcam footage.

Extensive construction work is being carried out in the area at present by Laois County Council at Fitzmaurice Place.

Two young people were robbed and threatened with a knife by two men. 

A Samsung phone and cash was taken from the victims are male and female aged 17 years. The culprits, both males, are described as being aged in their 50s and 20s.

The incident happened at approximately 6.30pm on Saturday evening at Millbrook, Portlaoise which is close to Main Street and Ridge Road.
