Nancy Ruschitzko - Portlaoise

The death took place on January 14 of Nancy Ruschitzko (nee Dundon), (Lanahrone Avenue, Corbally, Limerick. Formerly of Portlaoise and past Ladies President of Ballykisteen Golf Club).

Peacefully, at Milford Care Centre. Beloved wife of the late Bill. Dearly loved mother of Frank, Mark, Tina and Stephen. Sadly missed by her loving daughter-in-law Finola, Heather and Audrey, son-in-law Dermot, her cherished grandchildren David, Alan, Gareth, Bayleigh, Shaughan, Grace and Jack, sisters Phil and Gemma, brothers Tone and Ben, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her brother Milo.

Reposing at Thompson's Funeral Home, Thomas Street, on Wednesday (17th January) from 4.30pm to 6pm. Funeral arriving at St. Nicholas' Church, Westbury, on Thursday (18th January) for Requiem Mass at 11.30am followed by burial in Castlemungret Cemetery.

Margaret McGreevy - Portarlington

The death took place on January 12 of Margaret (Rita) McGreevy (née Moore), Margaret (Rita), Dublin and formerly of Portarlington, Co. Laois, peacefully at the Mater Hospital.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Joe (formerly of Farnbeg, Strokestown, Co. Roscommon) and her parents Peter and Nora. Rita will be sadly missed by her sisters-in-law Susan and Peggy, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends.

Removal from the Mater Hospital on Tuesday 16th January after prayers at 2:30pm, to arrive at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Strokestown for 7pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday 17th January at 11am, with burial afterwards in the New Cemetery, Strokestown.

Jim McCloskey - Portlaoise

The death took place on January 13 of Jim McCloskey, Well Rd, Court, Portlaoise.

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his son Jimmy.

Dearly loved husband to Teresa and loving father to Catherine, Jacqueline, Teresa and Séona. Cherished grandfather to Saoirse, Caoimhe, Cian, Siobhan, Danny, Aimee, Abigail, Noah, Aaron, Shane and Emily. Deeply regretted by his loving family, sister Geraldine, daughter in law Triona, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.

Reposing at his daughter Teresa's residence at 26 Aghnaharna Court ((R32K3TT) on Tuesday from 4pm until 8pm with rosary at 7.30pm. Removal on Wednesday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul's Church, for 2pm requiem Mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Pauls Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Mary Cummins - Ballacolla

The death took place on January 12 of Mary Cummins (née O'Connor) Rahandrick, Ballacolla, Co. Laois.

Peacefully at Waterford Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband John and her parents Andrew and Sarah.

Sadly missed by her loving family Joanne, Karen, John and Ray, daughter-in-law Fiona, brother and sisters Geraldine, Andrew and Bridget, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at her residence (Eircode R32 NF88) on Monday evening January 15th. from 4 o'clock pausing for prayers at 7.30. Removal on Tuesday morning to St. Canice's Church, Clough arriving for Requiem mass at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in Bordwell Cemetery.

Olivia Cheasty - Laois

The death has occurred of Olivia (Olive) Cheasty, Briarwood Gardens, Blanchardstown, Dublin / Laois / Meath. Formerly Kilshane Cross.

Peacefully at Our Lady's Hospice, Harold's Cross, surrounded by her loving family and caring staff. Predeceased by her husband John and son John Jr.

Olive will be very sadly missed by her daughters Frances, Margaret & Edel, sons Geoffrey, Edmund, Declan & Pat, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at St. Joseph's Chapel of Rest, Old Johnstown, Navan, Meath (C15 C425) on Tuesday from 5 pm to 7 pm. Removal Wednesday morning to arrive to St. Abban's Church, Doonane, Crettyard, Co. Laois, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Olivia’s Family would like to thank the staff at Benevan Nursing Home, Glasnevin, for taking care of Olivia with great kindness and affection throughout the course of her time with them.

Sheila Prone - Portlaoise

The death has taken place on January 13 of Sheila Prone (née Brady), Woodgrove, Portlaoise, Laois / and late of Ballyfermot, Dublin.

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of the late Freddy. Loving mother to Vincent and Siobhan. Cherished grandmother to Eamonn, Ciara, Darragh, Colm, Aedan, and Niamh, Jack and Sarah, great-grandmother to Callum. Deeply regretted by her son in law Peter, daughter in law Caroline and grandchildren's partners, sister-in-law Joan, husband Mattie and children Margaret, Alan, Paul and Karen, niece Annette and husband Eoin and their children Mark, Adam and Dermot, all her relatives and friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Keegan's Funeral Home, Portlaoise, on Tuesday evening from 6.30pm until 8pm. Removal on Wednesday to SS Peter and Paul's Church for 12 noon requiem Mass. Cremation will follow in Newlands at 2.30pm. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to The Cuisle Centre.

Elizabeth Gorman - Rosenallis

The death took place on January 11 of Elizabeth (Lizzie) Gorman (née Dunne), Drumnabehy, Rosenallis, Laois, and Wolfe Tone Court, Mountmellick, Laois.

Died peacefully in the gentle care of the nurses and staff of Oakdale Nursing Home, Portarlington.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Michael, and brothers Bill, Jack, Charlie, Har, and Nick.

Deeply regretted by her son Gerry, her sister Bridie, brother Bernie, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, her many friends, and wonderful neighbours.

Reposing at her son Gerry’s house, on Monday 15th January from 2pm. Recital of The Rosary at 7pm. Removal on Tuesday morning to St. Brigid’s Church, Rosenallis, for Requiem Mass at 12pm, followed by burial in St. Brigid’s Cemetery, Rosenallis.

House private on Tuesday morning please.

Christopher Reddy - Portlaoise

The death took place on January 11 of Christopher (Chris) Reddy, late of Foxburrow, Portlaoise and formerly Neagh Road, Terenure.

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the kind care of the staff in Portlaoise Hospital. Beloved husband and best friend of Mary, much-loved dad to Maureen, Thomas, Christopher, Orla and James, adored granddad to Meghan, Dylan, Charlie, Darragh and Logan.

Chris will be forever loved and very sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, grandchildren, daughters-in-law Gemma and Leanne, sister Theresa, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his home on Sunday from 2pm-6pm. House private outside these hours. Funeral Mass on Monday (15th January) at 12pm St Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise, followed by Cremation in Newlands Cross Cemetery at approximately 3pm.
