'Tree in danger of falling across the road' in Portlaoise housing estate

A tree is in danger of falling across the road in a Laois housing estate, a local councillor says.

Cllr Marie Tuohy is asking Laois County Council to take down a "dodgy" tree before it falls in Beladd Upper.

She tabled a motion to the March meeting of Portlaoise Municipal District.

"I know the pressure on trees since the last storm. I huge tree fell across the road. Thankfully no-one was injured. the stump was left if you could remove it. There is one dodgy tree left," she said.

In reply, the area engineer confirmed that trees in Beladd Upper have been included on a list of works to be done.
