The Lost Messiahs from Laois to play twice at Electric Picnic 2023.
A talented Portlaoise band that has released two impressive singles this year is getting huge stagetime at Electric Picnic.
The Lost Messiahs will be found playing to the crowds this year in not one but two performances, on Friday night in Mindfield and on Sunday in Artlot.
They were rebooked immediately after last year's festival, Ollie Plunkett told the Leinster Express / Laois Live.
"We have played the Electric Picnic three times. Last year we played Mindfield Arena, The Word Stage and following our performance there we were immediately booked for this year for the same stage.
"It is always a thrill and exciting to play Electric Picnic as you never know who is going to drop in to see you play. There is always a great atmosphere with people having the last weekend of fun and freedom before the winter sets in," Ollie said.
It is a busy summer for the band who play alternative indie music described as being filled with ethereal guitar and vocal sounds.
They shone on the Forest Fest in Emo in July, while post picnic, fans can catch them in the Dunamaise Arts Centre on Friday September 29.
The Lost Messiahs impressively experienced lineup includes James O’ Connor on vocals and acoustic Guitar, Eamonn Duff on bass and backing vocals, Martha Cummins on drums and backing vocals, Ollie Plunkett on Electric Guitar and backing vocals and Rachael Bonham on vocals and piano.
They recently released their fourth single Brownsfield from their third studio album called Connected To The Real.
"The two singles have been going down really well with over 35,000 views on youtube for videos and few thousand on Spotify from all parts of the globe.
"Our last single / video 'Radiance of Moon' was recently downloaded by a French music channel L'oeil musical and it has 19,500 views and 65 shares to date. Reviews for the two singles have been excellent," he said.
Ollie hopes to have a big Laois support at the festival.
"We would love for as many as possible to come see us play at EP. We had a brilliant gig at the festival last year with a packed tent and we greatly appreciate the support," he said.
The Lost Messiahs will play this Friday night, September 1 in the Mindfield Arena, on The Word Stage at 11pm. Then on Sunday they are on the Artlot Stage at 5.45pm.
