Laois sports fans have been urged to get behind two teams who will be playing in All-Ireland finals in Croke Park over the coming weekends.
The potential for a historic double success in Gaelic games lies with the woman from around the county who will wear the county colours on the hallowed turf of GAA HQ on August 3 and 10.
The county's camogie team sealed their place in the All-Ireland Junior Final on Sunday, August 10, by winning their semi-final over Wicklow last weekend. Their counterparts in Gaelic football had booked their place in the All-Ireland Intermediate Final on Sunday, August 3.
Laois LGFA invited Ladies Gaelic football fans to show support for the players at a 'meet the players' event on Tuesday, July 22 from 8.15pm in the Laois GAA LOETB Centre of Excellence beside Laois Hire O'Moore Park, Portlaoise.
All are invited to come along and meet the players as they prepare for their All-Ireland final," said the public invite.
Pat Collier, camogie team joint manager, called for fan support for both teams after Laois won the semi-final in Kingspan Breffni Park.
Pat said Sunday is normally a training day for the camogie team, but he said that the entire panel would set Sunday, August 3 aside to support the Ladies Gaelic Footballers in their Final against Tyrone.
"It's hugely important that we support the ladies' football team. We know a lot of those players very well. I hope the people of Laois get off their backsides and support the footballers, and please God, they will get a win and come and support us. We need the support," he said.
Star camogie full forward Aimee Collier put in a Player of the Match display against Wicklow. She emphasised the importance of fan support after collecting her Player of the Match award in Cavan.

"You have to have a crowd when you go to Croke Park. That is what it is all about. That feeling when you run out onto the field is absolutely amazing to hear the roar for you and your county, so I just hope the Laois fans come out and support us once again,” concluded the Camross woman on the pitch after.
Laois play Armagh in the final, who dispatched Roscommon in the second semi-final in Kingspan Breffni Park.
The camogie team lost last year's decider to Tipperary by just one point.
The Ladies footballers are back in the final for the first time since 2022 when they beat Wexford.
