St Brigid’s and Camross are set to renew acquaintances this weekend in the Laois Camogie Intermediate Championship Final, a repeat of last year’s decider which saw St Brigid’s crowned county champions.
Twelve months ago, St Brigid’s delivered a memorable campaign that didn’t stop at county level. After lifting the Laois title in 2024, they went on a remarkable run that saw them crowned Leinster Intermediate champions, defeating reigning Leinster holders Na Fianna in a thrilling semi-final before overcoming Naas in the provincial final in Tullamore. Their journey only ended at the All-Ireland semi-final stage, where they were narrowly beaten by eventual champions Clanmaurice of Kerry.
Now, as the 2025 final approaches, St Brigid’s will be looking to defend their title and continue their dominance at Intermediate level in Laois Camogie. They booked their return to the decider with a strong win over The Harps in the semi-final.
Their opponents, Camross, will be determined to turn the tables after falling short in the final for the last three years. They last won the Intermediate Championship in 2021. They lost out to St Brigid's in the final in 2022 and 2024, while O'Moore's beat them in 2023. Camross produced a fine display in their semi-final, overcoming 2023 champions O’Moore’s, and will be eager to reclaim the county crown.
With St Brigid’s chasing back-to-back titles and Camross hungry for revenge, this year’s final promises to be another fiercely contested battle between two sides who have set the standard for Intermediate Camogie in Laois.
The game throws-in at 2.30pm on Saturday, October 25 in Laois Hire O'Moore Park. You can follow along with the action as it happens on the Leinster Express/ Laois Live's Live Blog.
