The annual Ballyroan-Abbey GAA 5k Road Race and Family Fun Run took place on St Stephen’s Day morning, with a large crowd taking part. Mark Walsh was the overall winner, finishing in a time of 15.29. The first woman across the line was local runner and former Ireland’s Fittest Family contestant Kate McDonald, who clocked 17.20. Noah Carter was the first boy to cross the finish line, while Penelope McMahon led the girls home. Photographer Alf Harvey was present in Ballyroan for the Leinster Express/ Laois Live.
