This years Laois GAA yearly accounts will be presented to the annual convention on Monday night. The accounts cover eleven months until September 30 and don't include figures for the concluding stages of the Laois championships, including the senior and other finals which will further bolster their takings.
The accounts will show a surplus of €315,127 which is an decrease of €90,393 on 2021. A capital development fund worth €160,00 was set aside out of the 2021 surplus and did not have to accounted for in 2022.
County team's expenditure increased massively in 2022. The figure spent on the county teams of €639,745 has increased by over €220,000 in 2021. Player Expenditure relating to traveling and overnight trips accounted for the bulk of this rise. That 2022 figure of €246,058 accounted for €128,625 of the 220k increase.
Laois GAA has also has guaranteed club loans from the GAA development fund, the balance of which at 30 September 2022 is €276,647. At the year end the balance was represented by Ballyroan Abbey GAA, €52,667, Portarlington GAA, €57,932, Portlaoise GAA €82,707, and Rathdowney GAA €83,341.
