A child has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Portarlington this afternoon.
Gardai said the young girl was struck by a car on Station Road in Portarlington at around 2.40pm. It's understood the girl is 10 years old.
“The child has been removed to hospital with non life threatening injuries,” Gardai said.
Gardai have put traffic management in place along the road while they carry out an examination of the scene.
They are due to remove the car from the site of the collision and the road is expected to fully reopen shortly.
