A road traffic check point was mounted on Main Street, Portlaoise today.
The checkpoint was at the junction on Hume's corner on Main Street.
The gardaí appear to be checking for car tax and insurance.
In recent months the level of checkpoints have increased dramatically in Laois, with gardaí on duty first thing in the morning at housing estates in the county.
