Council CEO John Mulholland says Togher is a chance to 'put right' the poor record of IDA backed jobs in Laois.
“Don’t forget we are only catching up, as regards IDA, we only have 119 IDA supported jobs in the county, so we have to put that right.
“We are working, particularly since Christmas, we are in continuous contact with IDA and we are doing everything we can to underline the benefits of this site and others,” he told the Leinster Express.
Portarlington is also prime for IDA backed business investment
“That doesn’t exclude Portarlington either, we have that in the back of our minds as well,” Mr Mulholland said.
