Crash happened not too far outside Portlaoise.
A two-car collision near Portlaoise has led to two cars ending up off the road in a ditch on the busy N80.
The incident happened around 5.30 pm on the stretch of the road to Mountmellick after the Fairgreen roundabout.
Emergency Services rushed to the scene but it is not yet known if anybody was injured in the crash on the busy national route.
It's understood that both vehicles are badly damaged with one off the road in a ditch and the second off the road partially in the ditch.
