Revitalising Main Street and other parts of Portlaoise's core is central to the Low Carbon town aim.
A new online tool launched by the government today provides detailed updates on the status of Laois’s €18.2m Urban Regeneration and Development Fund projects.
The interactive system will provide information, imagery and updates on the status of three proposals in Laois including; Portlaoise – A Cultural Quarter, Portlaoise – A Low Carbon Town and Portlaoise – Placemaking for a Low Carbon Town.
"With the help of this interactive tool, users can easily navigate through the different URDF projects and gain valuable information about their status, milestones, and impact. It provides a user-friendly interface that allows stakeholders, residents, and interested individuals to stay informed about the ongoing developments in their area," said a spokesperson for the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
"Users can explore specific projects, track their progress, and access relevant details such as funding allocation, project timelines, and key objectives, making it easier for both professionals and the general public to stay up-to-date and make informed decisions on the progress of Laois's URDF initiatives."
The aim is to enhance public awareness regarding URDF projects, bringing valuable insights and understanding to all those interested in the region's growth and progress.
