Laois Autism group receives big donation from billionaire John Collison's estate

Laois Offaly Families for Autism have thanked Abbeyleix House and Farm for the generous donation

Laois Offaly Families For Autism (LOFFA) have received a €20,900 donation from Abbeyleix House & Farm.
The Laois charity has thanked Abbeyleix House & Farm for this generous donation, which was raised through an open day on the sprawling estate.
LOFFA was one of three charities to receive donations from an open day held by Abbeyleix House & Farm in June. The charity thanked Abbeyleix House & Farm for their generosity.
"Each year Abbeyleix House and Farm hold a wonderful family open day on their grounds with proceeds donated to three worthy charities. Laois Offaly Families for Autism were delighted to be chosen as one of the charities this year," the group announced.
"The day was fabulous from start to finish, the sun was shining and our LOFFA volunteers loved meeting all the families that came to enjoy the day and support all of the charities involved," they said.

"We wish to extend our sincere thanks to all the management and staff at Abbeyleix House & Farm. This donation is greatly appreciated and will go along way towards allowing LOFFA to continue to support over 176 families in the Laois/Offaly area," LOFFA finished.

John Collison, multi-billionaire and owner of Abbeyleix House and Farm, opened the property to the public for a Family Fun Day on Sunday June 23.

The Fun Day was accompanied by a Trail Run and an airshow. The event was held as a fundraiser for local charities, including  Abbeyleix and District Lions Club, Laois Offaly Families for Autism (LOFFA) and the Order of Malta for Ambulance Equipment. The day saw fun activities and live music enjoyed by all.
