Appeal for volunteers to keep Laois church open during the week

Our Lady Queen of the Universe Church, Errill

Volunteers are being sought in a Laois village to help keep the local church open during the week.

Parish Priest Fr Martin Delaney is appealing for volunteers in the Errill area to open and close the  Our Lady Queen of the Universe Church on a rota basis.

The move follows the retirement of Tom Kearns and it has been suggested that rather than having one person take on the task a team of volunteers could do this job on a rota basis for a week at a time.

Those interested in being part of this group are asked to contact Fr Martin personally or the Parish Office as soon as possible. Unfortunately, if  volunteers do not come forward, the parish  will have to leave the church closed during the week.
