Gardai use 'Three Bilboards Outside Borris-in-Ossory' to share drink driving message
An Garda Siochana has taken a creative approach to share their latest statistics on drink driving in Ireland.
The garda Twitter account, which is known for taking a bit of a different approach when communicating with the public, has designed and shared a 'Three Billboards Outside Borris-in-Ossory" tweet.
Inspired by the Oscar nominated film Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri which hit Irish cinemas in January, gardai shared the picture which outlines the number of drink drivers arrested this year and fatal collisions.
From January 1 to February 20, 2018 a total of 1029 drivers have been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
There has been 20 fatal collisions so far this year and the third 'billboard' asks 'How come 150 drink drivers are arrested weekly?'.
The image was shared over 250 times on Twitter.
