Road repairs have been requested leading to a new Laois glampsite opened by an Irish television and stage actor.
The glampsite in Wolfhill in Laois was opened in recent months by actor Charlie Hughes.
Happy Humans, a six pod glampsite at Mullaghmore, Wolfhill is kicking off business this week with a month of Christmas entertainment days to the public.
To get there safely however, a Laois councillor says the road needs safety measures.
Cllr Padraig Fleming tabled a motion to the November meeting of Graiguecullen Portarlington Municipal District.
He asked Laois County Council to carry out safety works at the crossroads in Crossard, Wolfhill, to improve the visibility on the left side from McGuinness's Cross towards Luggacurran, and to resurface two lay-bys in the area.
Even before the meeting on November 16, most of the works had already been done. The council has completed visibility improvement works on the crossroad and said it will resurface the lay-bys this week.
Cllr Fleming thanked engineer Philip McVeigh.
"This is a very important thing for residents and you have responded quickly. It's where the new glamping business is and they will have a Christmas programme. The road is very narrow, two cars can't pass, let alone tractors or buses. One has to reverse. All the lay-bys want is to take away grass and put gravel down. One load of stones wil be enough," he said.
The Happy Humans glampsite is advertising tickets to Christmas Special days out, from November 24 to December 18.
It is run by Charlie Hughes, a stage and television performer who has starred in Fair City, Red Rock, Iscariot, Pygmalion and Waiting for Godot.
