Cars are reportedly hitting a wall on a "very dangerous turn" in Laois, with a solution offered to Laois County Council.
The turn is near Timahoe village in Laois.
Cllr Paschal McEvoy has told the council that a landowner is willing to let a ditch be removed and replaced with a fence, so drivers can see better around the corner.
He tabled a motion to the November meeting of Graiguecullen Portarlington Municipal District, asking the council to remove the ditch at a dangerous bend in Ballinaclea, Timahoe, and replace it with a timber fence.
"A road has a very dangerous turn. A number of people have come around and hit a wall. It's very dangerous.
"To fix it is only a matter of putting in a fence. The people who own the land are happy to allow the ditch to be taken out," Cllr McEvoy said.
In answer, area engineer Philip McVeigh said that the council staff will meet Cllr McEvoy at the location and review the scope of works required.
