A cyclist was hospitalised on Wednesday evening following a collision near Abbeyleix.
Emergency services were called to the scene at about 5pm on Thursday, May 17.
Gardai set up stop/go system on the Abbeyleix-Portlaoise road (N77) about 3km outside Abbeyleix to allow paramedics and fire services deal the incident.
The collision involved a cyclist and a car just outside Abbeyleix. Abbeyleix and Portlaoise fire crews attended.
A cyclist sustained injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
