The countdown is on for one of Laois’ longest-running road races as the Luggacurren 10K returns for its 32nd edition this September.

Last year’s winners were Mick Kelly in the men’s race and Lisa Sweeney in the ladies’ race, and another strong field is expected again this year.

Prizes will be awarded across all categories in the main race, while all entrants will receive a souvenir T-shirt. Refreshments will be served afterwards, rounding off what has become a much-loved community sporting occasion.

The Luggacurren 10K continues to attract runners from across Laois and beyond, with organisers encouraging people to mark the date in their diaries and come along to take part. Updates and further details are available on Facebook at Luggacurren 10K.

The event takes place on Sunday, September 14, with the main 10K race starting at 1pm sharp. As well as the competitive 10K, there will be a non-competitive 5K and 10K beginning earlier at 12.30pm, offering something for runners and walkers of all levels.
